February 12 | Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, Pittsfield, MA | 5-8pm

AbstracTen brings together ten regional artists working in abstraction for a group exhibition at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. On view through February 27, with an opening reception February 12, the show presents a cross-section of contemporary abstract practices in the Berkshires, ranging from gestural painting and layered surface work to quieter, process-driven explorations of form and color.

Participating artists include Joanie Ciolfi, Sarah Horne, Ellie Kreischer, Bruce Laird, Melissa Matsuki Lillie, Mark Mellinger, Shany Porras, Brent Ridge, Jesse Tobin McCauley, and JJ Tobin. Together, their work offers a snapshot of how abstraction is evolving locally.

AbstracTen is presented in connection with the 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival, serving as one of the festival’s visual-arts anchors. The exhibition’s opening reception coincides with the festival’s kickoff, situating the gallery presentation within a broader, city-wide program of theater, music, and community events that activate downtown Pittsfield each February.
