Hudson Hall at the historic Hudson Opera House has announced the appointment of acomplished choreographer and local cultural stakeholder Adam Weinert as its next executive director. A longtime Hudson resident and frequent collaborator with the organization, Weinert will officially assume the role in the fall, following a summer transition period alongside outgoing director Tambra Dillon, who has led the institution for 13 years.

“My relationship with Hudson Hall began over ten years ago, and it’s remained a creative home ever since,” says Weinert. “Stepping into this role is deeply meaningful, and I’m grateful to the board and staff for their trust as we begin this next chapter together.”

Weinert’s connection to Hudson Hall spans more than a decade, beginning with his 2014 residency developing Monument, later presented at Jacob’s Pillow and internationally. He is also known locally for directing "Rip the Nut," Hudson Hall’s inventive mashup of "The Nutcracker" and Rip Van Winkle, and for co-founding "Waterfront Wednesdays,"  a popular community event series on the Hudson River.

Beyond the stage, Weinert has held leadership roles at Kaatsbaan Cultural Park, the Hudson Sloop Club, and the Hudson Art Coalition. Hudson Hall board president Paul Barrett praised his blend of “visionary artistry and demonstrated leadership,” calling him uniquely equipped to guide Hudson Hall’s next chapter.

“This building has long stood at the heart of Hudson’s civic and cultural life. I’m excited to keep that spirit alive," Weinert says.
