"Be Good" With Paulette Returns to The Foundry

Daniel Maseda brings his solo clown show "Be Good" With Paulette back to The Foundry on September 25, the character's second Berkshires appearance following an international tour. Paulette stumbles into a room full of strangers, sporting a brown sweater and a hot-off-the-fist black eye, unsure whether to panic or mingle, so he does both—armed with nothing but an arsenal of pleasantries and a monumental fear of rejection. It's a good night, the venue says, for anyone who wants to scream at a polite person.

Maseda is a performer from Washington, DC and a graduate of École Philippe Gaulier, the famed Paris clown school whose alumni include Sacha Baron Cohen and Emma Thompson. "Be Good" played the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, where it earned a four-star Pick of the Fringe from Mervyn Stutter, and won the inaugural Fringie Award for Best Clown at the 2025 Philadelphia Fringe, plus Best of the Fringe honors from DC Theater Arts at the District Fringe. Maseda also teaches workshops on clown, improvisation, and devising alongside his performance work.
