June 12–13, 7:30pm; Sunday, June 14, 2pm | Ghent, NY |

The Ghent Playhouse closes its production of "Dirty Blonde" this weekend, the final three performances of a two-weekend run that opened June 5. Written by Claudia Shear and directed here by Sky Vogel, the play follows two modern-day Mae West superfans who meet at her gravesite and discover unexpected connections. Part comedy, part character study, it weaves West's actual life and legacy into a bawdy, heartfelt story about love, obsession, and individuality. The play is one of the few in Broadway history to have its entire cast nominated for a Tony Award, following its original run at the Helen Hayes Theatre in 2000.

The Ghent Playhouse production stars Jessica Cordova, Robert Mason, and Monk Schane-Lydon, with musical direction by Cathy Schane-Lydon. Now in its 47th year, the Ghent Playhouse is a nonprofit volunteer-run community theater, with a season that has already included "Black Comedy" and "Grey Gardens" this year.

Ghent Playhouse, 6 Town Hall Place, Ghent, NY. Tickets $12–$28 at ghentplayhouse.org.

Dane’s dining room and parlor are both filled with second-hand treasures. Her Art Deco dining set has been central to multiple iterations of her home. “I’ve had this table since 1990,” says Dane. “This table has seen many a meal, many a poker game, and lots of production work.” The starburst chandelier came from a second-hand office supply store in Austin. “I bought four for $100,” she says.
