Ever wonder about all those farms referred to on menus? Who is the farm girl behind Farm Girl Farm?  Now's your chance to find out. This Sunday, March 1,  Mezze Bistro + Bar in Williamstown and Allium in Great Barrington will host simultaneous afternoon farm-to-table mixers.  The public is invited to join local chefs, both professional and amateur, as well as growers, some of whom are ready to offer CSA member shares at a 10% discount for those who pay in full. “Our goal is to raise awareness of eating locally and connect faces to the names of the small family farms and farmers featured on our menus,” says Nancy Thomas, co-founder of Mezze Restaurant Group. “Our trio of sister restaurants, which along with these two include Café Latino at MASS MoCA, are committed to buying local.  We are inviting community members to help support of our neighboring farms and to help sustain our regional economy and the environment.” Participating farms at Mezze Bistro + Bar include Mighty Food Farm, Two Spoons Farm and Hidden Pasture Farm in Pownal, Vt., Cricket Creek Farm and Peace Valley Farm of Williamstown, Mass., and Avonlea Farm Brick Oven Bakery of Pownal, Vt.
