Hudson has been described as "one of the richest dictionaries of architectural history in the United States," and this 1880 French Second Empire home is an entry in that tome. 517-519 Washington Street is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that has been preserved beautifully, blocks away from Warren Street. It's got an iconic mansard roof, bullseye dormer windows, and a tower above the front entry with a circular window (it is the original, "wavy" glass? Maybe).

Through the front door is a walnut-trimmed entryway where a curved staircase rises to the second floor. Inside, there's a double parlor with fireplace, a dining room with bay windows, and 12-foot ceilings throughout the main floor. Upstairs, the primary ensuite includes a fireplace heater, a Jacuzzi tub, and a tower alcove. This home is on a double lot with a two-car garage, landscaped gardens, and classic privet hedges to delineate property lines.

517–519 Washington Street is listed by Peggy Lampman at Peggy Lampman Real Estate.
