Good Food And Good Work Combine At Mayfest
Construct Mayfest 2018
Deborah Ryan and Susan Tolin
The 2018 Construct Mayfest on Monday, May 21 began on a high note: it was the biggest turnout in the event’s history, with $107,000 raised. The annual fundraising event, held at Crissey Farm, featured 27 restaurants, caterers, bakers and liquor specialty shops uniting for a buffet feast. All proceeds raised benefit Construct, Inc., which provides homelessness prevention and supportive housing services for people with low to moderate incomes in the Southern Berkshires. Perhaps one reason for the big turnout was this year’s honorees, Deborah and Bill Ryan, who are well known for their civic-mindedness and active involvement, not only with Construct but with Community Access to the Arts, Railroad Street Youth Project, and Austen Riggs, among many others.
