Hancock Shaker Village Country Fair: Antique Cars, Timber Framing, and Chicken Races

Hancock Shaker Village holds its 28th annual Country Fair on September 26 and 27, a two-day celebration built around artisanship, local food, and outdoor activity across the Village's historic grounds. This year's lineup includes live music, workshops and demonstrations, family activities, farm animals, a farmer's market, craft beer, antique tractors, a quilt show, and dozens of craft vendors. And chicken races. There will also be chicken races.

Saturday's centerpiece is an Antique Car Show running 11am to 4pm, alongside a timber framing workshop with instructors Dave Carlon and Neil Godden. Sunday afternoon brings a Back Porch Concert from The Housie Shakers, a four-piece Pittsfield band that's built a quick following on the Berkshire music scene since forming in late 2023. Their sets range across rock, blues, pop, bluegrass, reggae, Americana, and improvisational groove, and they've become a fixture at community events including Downtown Pittsfield's First Fridays.
