February 27 | American Mural Project, Winsted, CT | 5–7 pm (music at 5:30 pm)

The American Mural Project continues its monthly Happy Hour Piano Series on Friday, February 27, with a performance by pianist Garnell Curtis. Held from 5 to 7pm (with music beginning at 5:30 pm), the event places live piano in the expansive gallery space that houses AMP’s monumental collaborative mural—an immersive backdrop for an early-evening set designed to ease into the weekend.

Curtis, a University of Connecticut student, is known for an improvisational style that moves fluidly across pop, soul, jazz, and classical traditions, sometimes within the span of a single piece. His playing resists strict genre boundaries, favoring spontaneity and tonal exploration over fixed repertoire categories.

The Happy Hour Piano Series takes place on the fourth Friday of each month, pairing live music with a cash/credit bar offering wine, beer, cider, and nonalcoholic options. Tickets are $8 in advance or at the door, with proceeds supporting AMP’s nonprofit arts programming.
