Hosts James and Linda Quella
On Saturday, May 18, Linda and James Quella shared the spectacular view from their hilltop home in Sharon, Connecticut, the site of the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon’s annual summer gala. The newly expanded library on the Sharon Green has plans to expand its children’s programming as well as offer events such as chess, family movie nights, a silent film fest and other children’s and adult programs. To that end, a large group of supporters at the gala participated in both silent and live auction items. The unequivocal hit of the night: a spontaneous offer from James Quella to host a dinner for 12 at his home. When the bidding reached $13,000, he offered a second dinner, resulting in two winners. Still, it was never lost that the proceeds would go to the library, the literary and culture center of Sharon. “The library is about community, Quella said. “It’s a place where people can gather and learn. We want everyone to feel welcome.”
