The Hudson Hall Gala invitation promised “delicious drinks, delectable food and dazzling entertainment,” and delivered it all at its annual soiree on Saturday, May 20 in Hudson. The invite also requested guests to shine up their sequins, and they themselves delivered in shimmery, sparkly, sequined party clothes. The evening began with a champagne reception on the first floor and continued up the grand staircase to the pink and purple-lit performance hall for dinner and entertainment. Home/Made + Atelier Roquette, the creative studio of Leisah Swenson and Monica Byrne, continuously replenished a lavish spread. Performances popped up throughout the evening; an arielist spun, dancers (who seemed to escape from “Avatar” world) performed, and cabaret singer Amy G. got a a touch raunchy singing from various parts of her body. Proceeds from the gala go towards Hudson Hall’s Community Arts Program, a year-round program of free performances, workshops for youth and adults, workforce development, exhibitions, talks, and city-wide events, and help maintain its historic landmark building on Warren Street,
