2023 American Pianists Awards winner Isaiah J. Thompson comes to the Mahaiwe for a festive evening of Guaraldi-inspired jazz. Thompson, a Steinway Artist and Cole Porter Fellowship recipient, brings his quartet to the Indigo Room for an intimate concert celebrating the iconic holiday music of Vince Guaraldi.
Originally from West Orange, NJ, Thompson trained at The Juilliard School and has performed with Ron Carter, Christian McBride, John Pizzarelli, Cécile McLorin Salvant, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. His recording debut appeared on Handful of Keys (Blue Engine Records), and he has since released multiple albums as a bandleader. He has been honored with the Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, second place in the Thelonious Monk Competition, and contributed to the Golden Globe–nominated soundtrack for Motherless Brooklyn.
