March 7 | The Stissing Center, Pine Plains, NY | 7:30–9:30pm
For an evening that presents klezmer music at its most expressive and contemporary, Isle of Klezbos comes to The Stissing Center on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 pm. The all-female ensemble has been performing internationally for more than two decades, building a repertoire that honors Yiddish musical traditions while expanding them with influences from swing, tango, reggae, cumbia, and other rhythmic languages.
Known for arrangements that range from rambunctious to ethereal, neo-folkloric tunes and re-imagined classics alike, Isle of Klezbos blends deep respect for diasporic klezmer forms with a genre-defying sensibility. Members of the group hale from the music programs of Juilliard, Eastman, Berkley, and Harvard, bringing virtuosic soloing and ensemble interplay to each performance, a sound characterized as both “rapturous and rollicking” by L.A. Blade.
Presented at The Stissing Center, the concert is part of the venue’s 2026 season of music and performance. Tickets are available in advance (typically $30–$40) and at the door ($40–$50).
Whether you’re drawn by klezmer’s storytelling roots or the ensemble’s inventive, cross-cultural energy, Isle of Klezbos offers a vibrant, engaging night of music that bridges old world and new.
