Jon Stewart will make his Tanglewood debut this summer, joining the 2026 Popular Artist Series for a one-night performance on Saturday, June 20 at 7pm. Stewart will perform a comedy set after taking up the drums, backing his band Church and State.

Best known for his long tenure as host of “The Daily Show,” Stewart remains one of the most influential figures in American political satire. After stepping away from the program in 2015, he returned in 2024 as intermittent host and executive producer, reentering a media landscape that has, in many ways, been shaped by his earlier work. His approach—combining humor with pointed political commentary—continues to define the tone of contemporary late-night television.

In addition to his work on “The Daily Show,” Stewart has developed a range of projects that extend his focus beyond traditional comedy formats. His Apple TV+ series “The Problem with Jon Stewart” brought together policymakers and advocates directly affected by major social issues, while his podcast “The Weekly Show” offers in-depth conversations on politics, culture, and public policy.

He’s also been a prominent voice in securing federal support for 9/11 first responders and played a key role in advancing the PACT Act, expanding healthcare coverage for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits.

Tickets for the performance go on sale Monday, March 23 at 10am through Tanglewood’s official box office. Seating is currently limited to the Koussevitzky Music Shed, and a four-ticket limit per customer will be in place.
