Jamie Larson reports from Hudson. The Edna St. Vincent Millay Society at Steepletop offered a rare and welcomed opportunity to see the famed poet’s intimate belongings, art and some never-before-seen photographs at the McDaris Fine Art gallery on Saturday, February 22. Many Millay admirers came out for the opening of the exhibit, entitled Beyond the Poetry, which doubled as a silent auction fundraiser for Steepletop. The pieces, which have been brought down from Millay’s estate in Austerlitz, will only be on display in Hudson through March 2, but Millay Society Director of Development Allison Marchese hopes the intimate glimpse into the writer’s life will entice visitors to come see the continuing legacy of Millay on display at Steepletop.
