Dale Stewart reports from Sharon. The fifth Annual MOMIX in the Garden on August 25th, 2013, featured a private sunset performance by the internationally renowned illusionist dance troupe to benefit the Susan B. Anthony Project, which helps survivors of sexual assault. The event was hosted at the meticulous Sharon home of interior and garden designer Michael Trapp, pictured left with Barbara Spiegel, executive director of Susan B. Anthony Project Sexual Assault Services. Guests sipped an envious selection of wine provided by Salisbury Wines and nibbled delicious hors d’oeuvres such as corn and tomato blinis and duck meatballs from the Farmer’s Daughter. The Susan B. Anthony Project, advocates for the autonomy of women and the end of interpersonal violence, was founded in 1983 to promote safety, healing and growth for all survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and provides free services in 20 towns in Litchfield County. The 24-hour crisis line can be reached at 860-482-7133 or through a visit to the office at 179 Water Street, Torrington.
