Norfolk Library's Annual Book Sale Back with Rare Finds and Tons of Free Books
The sale ends with two full days of free books under the tent

The Norfolk Library holds its Annual Book Sale over three days at the end of August, with more than 30,000 books—roughly 75% hardcover—sorted into over 30 categories, donated from Norfolk's private libraries and beyond. The range is comprehensive: art and photography books, cookbooks, oversized garden books, travel and children's titles, history, biography, literature, religion and philosophy, social science, business and law, music and theater, technology, science, health, politics, foreign languages, and thousands of volumes of recent and rare fiction. About 500 rare and vintage books get priced to sell as well.
Saturday, August 29, runs 10:30am to 5pm at regular sale prices, with no early or special access permitted before the sale opens. Sunday, August 30, runs 10:30am to 9pm, and everything under the tent goes free starting at 3pm. Monday, August 31, from 7am to 7pm, is unlimited free books under the tent for the entire day.
Proceeds from the paid portion benefit the Norfolk Library Associates, which funds the library's free cultural programming. Boxes are provided on site, credit cards are accepted, and the library recommends bringing a vehicle with real cargo capacity.
