Until COVID-19, The Sylvia Center's Farm Event at Katchkie Farm in Kinderhook, New York, was held under a huge tent, where guests sat together at long tables. Like all organizations,The Sylvia Center has pivoted and its 15th annual fundraiser on June 16 was held, for the third time, picnic style. All of the food was provided by Great Performances, whose owner, Liz Neumark, established Katchkie Farm and The Sylvia Center. The nonprofit organization teaches young people about the connection between food and health through nutrition-focused, culinary-based programming, both in New York City and in Columbia County. In the past year, The Sylvia Center has educated over 2,000 students and distributed over 2,500 fresh food meal kits, which gave students and their families access to fresh and healthier food. Following the auction winner announcements, the guests departed alongside the field of sunflowers at sundown, carrying home jars of Thunder Pickles, made by two members of The Sylvia Center's teen program, who were present to showcase their work.

Children's activities included painting pots and filling them with seeds for their garden at home.
