Submitted by Hudson Hall  Supporters, artists, performers, and community members ate, drank and mingled outside on a transformed Hudson city street and across both floors of Hudson Hall’s historic 1855 building on Saturday, May 14. The Proprietors Social, the beloved arts orgnaization's annual spring gala, was a multi-part celebratation. The gala is Hudson Hall’s largest fundraising event of the year and provides critical support for its year-round schedule of accessible cultural offerings and free community programs.

Outdoors, guests were treated to cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a raw oyster bar catered by Merchants Social (whose new Warren Street restaurant debuted for the event) as they enjoyed music by Nkoula Badila and DJ Jef Scharf (Wolfi Part II). The festivities continued inside Hudson Hall’s galleries with a stunning exhibition by visual artist Barbara Kilpatrick and two premiere performances of a newly commissioned dance work by choreographer/performers Rashuan Mitchell and Silas Riener. After remarks by Hudson Hall Board President Susan Hendrickson and Executive Director Tambra Dillon, the party then split in two, with guests moving on to dinner at Merchants Social and Swoon Kitchenbar for a delicious three-course, farm-to-table meal.
