Simple and perfect: That's Ooma Tesoro's recipe using a 26-oz jar of its magic marinara sauce.

Ooma Tesoro’s Mussels Fra Diavolo

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of fresh mussels
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 large cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley plus a few sprigs to garnish
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine (we like pinot grigio)
  • 26oz jar of Ooma Tesoro's marinara sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a large sauté pan on medium heat, add the oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, and parsley.
  2. Sauté until garlic is slightly golden, then add the white wine and let it evaporate.
  3. Once the oil starts frying, add the jar of sauce. Lower the heat to medium and simmer for ten minutes.
  4. Rinse the mussels under cold water and remove the beard that’s on the side.
  5. Once the sauce is hot and bubbling, add the mussels and turn up the heat.
  6. Place the lid on the pan, and give it a shake every two minutes.
  7. After five minutes, remove the lid and let some water evaporate for a couple of minutes.
  8. They are now ready to eat.
  9. Serve with pasta (you can make it ahead) and/or bread.
