Will Meyer is one of the more recognized architects working in Columbia County, and 312 Sky Farm Road is a 2006 house that makes his approach to the region clear. The structure is a dark horizontal volume—concrete, Hardiboard, stone, and glass—with a white cube punching through the center to house. It's the kitchen, beside a cutout in the mass that forms a covered carport.

Inside, the house is organized as a single floor around a long gallery hallway. At the center, the living room opens through a full wall of glass to a deck over the treetops, with seasonal views to Copake Lake visible through the canopy. A suspended wood-burning fireplace hovers in space. Wide-plank ash floors run throughout. The kitchen, in the white cube, is equipped with a gas cooktop and built-in appliances and sits at the heart of the house with woodland light on all sides.

The primary suite at one end has a soaking tub, en-suite bath, and its own wall of glass opening to a private deck. Down the hall, two bedrooms share a full bath and a sauna. At the opposite end, a guest suite with corner-wrapped glass walls and its own en-suite bath functions independently from the rest. A circular staircase descends to a finished lower room with cork flooring, walk-out access and storage. The house sits on 4.74 private acres with a generator and a security system in place.

Copake Lake, Taconic State Park, and Catamount are all close. Hudson and Great Barrington are each under 30 minutes away.

312 Sky Farm Road, Copake (NY) is listed at $1,750,000, offered by Joseph Shirk at The Kinderhook Group, Inc.
