In Act II of the opera “Don Giovanni,” the Commendatore sings, “You have invited me to sup with you; I have come.” So, too, did supporters of the Berkshire Opera Festival, when they gathered at the Berkshire Museum on Sunday, June 5 for an evening of drinks, music, and a Spanish-inspired dinner. Billed as “Supper in Seville,” the event served as the season kickoff and fundraiser, and in celebration of BOF’s 2022 mainstage opera, Mozart’s “Don Giovanni.” Guests were also treated to three musical selections performed between courses by American soprano Jacqueline Piccolino. A live auction showed the deep support the festival has garnered since its founding by Brian Garman and Jonathon Loy in 2015. Like this gala, “Don Giovanni” was originally planned for 2020 — Berkshire Opera Festival’s fifth season — but without further ado, it will run for three performances August 20-26 at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center.
