Silka Glanzman reports from Rhinebeck.Intermittent downpours and a tornado warning couldn't stop the steady stream of fans who poured into Rhinebeck's bluecashew Kitchen Pharmacy for Ted Allen's book signing this past Saturday, September 8. Hosts and co-owners Sean B. Nutley and Gregory Triana (pictured at left with his partner Vincenzo Buscema and Sales Associate Aaron Enfield) graciously served watermelon- and cucumber-infused seltzer, raspberry lambic, and bowls of cashews as the guest of honor took his time with each fan, exchanging anecdotes, ingredient substitutions, and favorite recipes from his newest book, In My Kitchen. Ben Fink, In My Kitchen photographer and Hurley, NY part-timer, was also there to chat with friends and foodies, many of whom dropped in from the nearby CIA. When all was said and signed, Ted and friends headed toward Kingston to celebrate the launch of the book and the close of a festive Hudson Valley afternoon.
