Any business that can make it past the first few years is pretty admirable, but a restaurant that remains one of the best and most popular at 20 years is truly remarkable. On Saturday, Sept. 8, Terrapin Restaurant celebrated 20 years as one of the Hudson Valley’s leading restaurants at an invitation-only reception made merrier with copious complimentary tapas. In 1998, Chef Josh Kroner opened Terrapin in West Hurley, New York, but three years later moved to the handsome former Rhinebeck First Baptist Church (ca. 1825). Terrapin has been a driving force behind the farm-to-table movement in the Hudson Valley and continues to please diners with New American food, blending aspects of French, Southwestern and Asian cuisines. “To those who have been with us through this whole journey, I owe a huge thank you,” said Kroner.
