The Longest House in Caanan

Including space for a helipad and a farm with a paddock and arena.
This is a bit of a confounding one, but it’s worth escaping into the photos, even though it looks like it would take around an hour to get from one side to the other. Known as “Pierce Peak,” 241 Cunningham Hill Road in Canaan is the longest house we’ve ever seen, full of opulent finishes and on a hilltop with wraparound views of the Berkshires and Hudson Valley.
With four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 6,829 square feet, the floor plan seems to be one main residence separated by a cobblestone drive, then an extra guest quarters on the other side of a massive covered area. There are fun details like custom ironwork, wood from New York City water tanks, and cobblestones rescued from Boston’s Big Dig.
The property is 31.5 acres with a gate, and it’s cleared for a helipad. On site is a separate six-acre farm with paddock and arena and an infinity pool, with a bar, fireplace, and outdoor shower to complete the hangout space. Completed in 2016 by Burr & McCallum, it won an AIA Award for architecture and design.
241 Cunningham Hill Road is listed for $12,500,000 by Steven J. Weisz at William Pitt Sotheby’s – Great Barrington.
