The Berkshire Museum Shop has come out of hiding. It has moved from the bowels of the venerable Berkshire Museum and into a prime corner storefront at 31 South Street in Pittsfield. Designed and fabricated by local artists led by Mitch and Seth Nash of Blue Q and Joe Wheaton. the 1100 square foot shop feels like an art installation. The merchandise ranges from cheerful scarves ($42) by Crispina Design to laminated, resuable shopping bags ($12) for groceries to paintings by local artists such as Maggie Mailer. Blessedly, it's a kid-friendly shop in every sense: There are educational toys for every child on your list, and there are plenty of inexpensive items so kids can use their allowance money to buy fun gifts for their friends and family too. The centerpiece of the store is a sculptural shelving unit that fuels the imagination.

Made from recycled material, these winsome scarves are designed in Pittsfield by Crispina Ffrench

In addition to books, games and art supplies, the shop sells paintings, prints, photographs and scultpure.
