The Prospect hosts a twilight Float Camp session on July 25 with Stillwater, combining outdoor float therapy on the lake with live sound as the sun goes down. The event is open to the public, not just guests of the resort.
Float therapy—lying in a body of saltwater denser than the Dead Sea, drifting in sensory-reduced stillness—has been used for stress relief, pain management, and deep meditative states since the 1950s. The outdoor, lake-based version here takes that practice out of the usual dim indoor pod and sets it against an open sky, with live sound—crystal bowls, gongs, and other instruments—playing across the water at dusk.
The Prospect opened in 2025 on Prospect Lake in Egremont, a collection of 49 hand-built modernist cabins drawing on Scandinavian hytta tradition, each designed to disappear into the wooded lakefront landscape while offering floor-to-ceiling views of the water and forest. Landscape designer Raina Weber worked with the Yale School of the Environment to introduce 2,650 native trees and shrubs and nearly 5,000 native perennials onto the property.
The resort includes Finnish-style wood-fired lakefront saunas, an outdoor heated saltwater pool, tennis and pickleball courts, the Cliff House restaurant and bar and wellness programming—of which this float camp is one example.
