Neither thunder nor sporadic downpours could spoil the festivities at the Wilderstein Historic Site's 2019 Summer Celebration on Saturday, July 6. It is truly a testament to the tight-knit community of supporters behind the historic home in Rhinecliff, New York that so many braved the tempestuous weather to attend the event. Thank goodness one of the house's many distinguishing features is a lavish wraparound porch and carriage port, which sheltered guests dressed to the nines in the evening's equestrian theme. Luckily, the clouds soon parted and the event went on in good spirits and much cooler temps. Food, drink, music and company were excellent, as always, and this year partygoers were joined by a herd of goats (behind a fence, of course). The animals are working hard to defoliate the overgrowth on the steep cliffside, helping to further declutter Wilderstein's magnificent view of the Hudson River.
