Sunday, March 8 | Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Ave, Pittsfield, MA | 11am–2pm

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts opens "Women in Art" on International Women’s Day with an artists reception on Sunday, March 8, bringing together a large cross-section of Berkshire-based women working across media. The group exhibition features 73 women artists and frames the show as a broad survey of women’s creative work in the region—bold or subtle, experimental or traditional.

The exhibition grew out of a call for art issued by the Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development, open to women artists (cis and trans). Organizers received hundreds of submissions from across Berkshire County; the final selection spans emerging and established artists and includes painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital work, and fiber, among other forms.

“The response to this call was overwhelming, it’s quite obvious that women are looking for something to celebrate," Pittsfield Cultural Development Director Jen Glockner says. "Art is powerful. Women are powerful. This exhibition celebrates that.”

The exhibition runs through March 27, 2026. Gallery hours are Wednesday–Friday, 11am–3pm, or by appointment.
