White Memorial Conservation Center presents All About the North American Porcupine with Gerri Griswold on Saturday, January 3, an illustrated talk diving into the life of Connecticut’s elusive “quill pig.” North American porcupines are large, solitary rodents found throughout New England; though mostly nocturnal, they’re occasionally spotted in trees during the day.
Wildlife educator Gerri Griswold guides the program, exploring porcupine natural history—from diet and habitat to their 20,000–30,000 quills—in a richly visual presentation that incorporates engaging props to deepen understanding of this fascinating species.
The talk takes place in the A.B. Ceder Room at White Memorial’s Conservation Center. Admission is free; donations are welcome to support public programming. Registration online or in advance is encouraged.
