Basilica SoundScape returns this September with its 10th‑annual weekend of live music and curated art—an event often described as an “anti‑festival” for its thoughtful pacing and curated approach. With early-bird weekend passes at $75(regular $125) available through June 19, attendees have a limited window to secure their place at this immersive experience on the Hudson Waterfront.

On September 19 and 20, performances will fill the cavernous, repurposed 19th‑century factory that is Basilica Hudson. This year’s lineup balances head-turning acts like shoegaze‑metal pioneers Deafheaven, returning after their 2015 debut, and underground hip‑hop artist billy woods, alongside post‑punk stalwarts White Lung, experimental duo Fcukers, ambient songsmith Maria Somerville, and alternative rockers The Vines.

SoundScape also sees the return of the Sacred Bones pop-up, Better Read Than Dead Books, and others attractions yet to be announced.

Two full days of programming, curated by Basilica founders Melissa Auf der Maur, Brandon Stosuy, and Tony Stone, with guest curation from David Castillo of St. Vitus and writer Jenn Pelly.

Modestly sized—about 500 attendees per night—the festival’s scale is intentional. With tickets that include access to all musical performances and visual installations set within the soaring interior of the building, SoundScape offers a tightly woven experience that encourages discovery over distraction.

Of the event’s diversion from the usual music festival feel, The New Yorker once wrote: “The absence of long lines, corporate sponsorships, and flower crowns have made [Basilica SoundScape] a banner weekend for adventurous listeners, and the program, as usual, is stunning.”
