In the summer of 1928, during its inaugural season, the Berkshire Theatre Festival (then called the Berkshire Playhouse) staged George Bernard Shaw's Candida, which BTF has revived this summer. As part of the company's 80th birthday celebration, there was cake, petit fours and native strawberries served under the Main Stage tent following Saturday night's performance of Candida. The crowd included many BTF alumni, which gave the party the air of a very large and well-directed family reunion.
