In a county full of nonprofit organizations, Berkshire Family & Individual Resources (BFAIR) has been hard at work and steadily growing, without much fanfare, for the past 25 years. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, BFAIR threw itself a masquerade gala on Friday, Oct. 25 at The Proprietor’s Lodge in Pittsfield. AJ Enchill, from State Senator Adam Hinds’ office, presented a citation to the organization from the Mass. State Senate; Brittany Dorwin, who participates in BFAIR’s programs, spoke about the good work the group does; and the staff and board recognized CEO Rich Weisenflue for his 19-plus years of service. BFAIR helps meet the needs of local people with disabilities and their families through residential homes, shared living and supported apartments for adults with disabilities, along with clinical and employment services, day habilitation, community integration and more. The organization’s staff serves nearly 600 residents annually, and has gone from four programs in 2000 to 15 programs in 2019.
