As the thunder rumbled and raindrops fell, some 500 Jacob's Pillow supporters crossed a soggy lawn from the Ted Shawn Theatre into an enormous tent with pink lights for a high-spirited dinner-dance that kicked off the festival's season. The star of the evening seemed to be Governor Deval Patrick who'd walked in Boston's Gay Pride Parade earlier in the day with his 18-year-old daughter, Katherine. Dressed in a white dinner jacket, the Governor cut a dashing figure and seemed to be enjoying a night of catching up with old friends.
The tent was decorated with banners featuring photos from the Jacob's Pillow archives, which provided inspiration for guests on the dance floor including the very dapper Arthur Collins, who wore a fedora and white suit, with Pillow general manager Connie Chin.
