A few weeks ago, it was the residents of Sharon and the neighboring towns of Amenia, Millerton and Salisbury, who had started a letter-writing campaign to Trader Joe's, suggesting they open in the old Trotta's supermarket. Now, Cultural Pittsfield is using Facebook to wage a campaign to lure the hip, affordable supermarket chain to Pittsfield. Trader Joe's encourages this community input and there is a link on its website where customers can suggest locations for future stores. For now, anyone who drives to and from New York CIty on Route 684 can take a quick detour to the Trader Joe's in Danbury, CT, or take a road trip to West Hartford, CT, or Hadley, MA.
