For an intergalactic-themed event, space sure seemed hard to find on Friday, July 27 at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Mass., as almost 300 supporters in sparkling attire crowded the galleries. The evening began with a benefactor reception in the exhibit Josh Simpson: Galactic Landscapes, featuring the artist and his wife, former astronaut Cady Coleman. A cocktail reception followed, where guests sipped STARgaritas and cosmic peach cosmos, and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres from Marketplace Catering. A live auction in The Little Cinema raised more than $15,500 for the Museum’s education programs, ensuring that all Berkshire County students can visit the Museum for free this coming academic year. As more guests flowed in, DJ BFG kicked off the dance party and a pop-up “speakeasy” by Methuselah and “Berkshire County’s Best Bartender” Johnny Burns shook up the cocktails Hubble Trouble and the Shooting Star of Bombay.
