HOH Gala

David Franck reports from Hudson. A night of hot Latin Jazz marked the Hudson Opera House’s 20th annual fete, Gala Veinte!, on Saturday, September 28 at  Basilica Hudson. Patrons filled the reclaimed 19th century converted factory and crowded the dance floor to move to the caliente sounds of Paul Carlon and Grupo Los Santos. They grabbed up offerings from the silent auction, including art from Richard Artschwager and a weeklong stay in Bordeaux. HOH Executive Director, Gary Schiro, pictured middle left with New York State Assemblywoman Didi Barrett and her attorney husband, David spoke about the latest Opera House happenings. "We're embarking on an exciting new era, with construction beginning and programs expanding, and the steadfast support of our friends at the gala makes it all possible." This is HOH’s primary fundraiser of the year and one of the major sources of support for its cultural programming and ongoing building restoration. Last year's proceeds helped make possible more than 800 HOH programs and events, such as the ever-popular annual Winter Walk on Warren Street.
