The Hotchkiss Philharmonic Orchestra continues its season with a concert that pairs orchestral repertoire with a solo voice of international stature. On Saturday, February 21 at 7:30pm, the orchestra—conducted by artistic director Fabio Witkowski—welcomes Polish mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kulig for a program that bridges baroque, late-romantic, and cinematic movements in Katherine M. Elfers Hall.

Kulig’s set focuses on works by Handel, Gluck, Mahler, and Saint-Saëns. Interspersed with these solo vocal works are orchestral selections drawn from composer John Williams’ film scores, including themes associated with Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Founded in 2018, the Hotchkiss Philharmonic Orchestra combines professional musicians with gifted student performers, creating concert experiences that reflect both technical rigor and local engagement. Its concerts are free and open to the public.
