February 22 | Five Points Arts Center, Torrington, CT | 1–4pm

At the Five Points Arts Center, an immersive paper engineering and pop-up workshop offers participants a deep dive into the mechanics of three-dimensional paper forms on Sunday, February 22, from 1–4pm. Led by artist and educator Marianne Petit, the session explores fundamental techniques—folds, layers, pull-tabs, and articulated structures—that transform flat sheets into dynamic, moving compositions.

Designed for teens and adults ages 14 and up, the workshop combines narrative thinking with hands-on construction, encouraging a playful yet precise approach to sequence, motion, and material.

Held in the Arts Center’s studio space, the three-hour workshop includes all materials and invites both beginners and experienced makers to expand their understanding of paper as both medium and mechanism. Reservations are required, and a registration deadline of February 18 applies.
