On July 13, the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center held its annual summer gala in Great Barrington, drawing a well-dressed crowd for a night of dinner, performance, and support for the arts. The evening began with a cocktail reception under the tent beside the historic theater, followed by a catered dinner from Peter Platt of the Old Inn on the Green. Floral arrangements by Erica Darling Flowers and planning by Only in My Dreams Events helped set a celebratory but relaxed atmosphere.

The centerpiece of the event was a performance by Tony Award–winner Aaron Tveit. Tveit, best known for his roles in Moulin Rouge! The MusicalCatch Me If You Can, and the TV series Graceland, performed a mix of Broadway songs and personal favorites. The performance, held in the main theater, capped off the evening and drew an enthusiastic response from the audience.

As the Mahaiwe’s main fundraising event of the year, the gala also included a paddle raise to support ongoing capital improvements, including the new Indigo Room adjacent to the theater. Board chairs Jamie DuMont and Rick Miramontez were on hand to thank attendees, and the overall tone of the evening reflected the community’s continued investment in the Mahaiwe’s programming and future.
