While hawking books that ranged in subject from weeds to wit and wisdom, from mysteries to memoirs, local literary luminaries and bibliophiles showed their support for The Norfolk Library, on Friday August 24th, at the Midsummer Dream Big Evening fall fundraiser. A phalanx of authors, stationed at tables under a tent, greeted eager readers, discussed their work, and signed copies of their books, as summery marimba music filled the air. The evening's co-hosts Joel Howard and Rita Freedman (at left) welcomed guests, thanking them for their support before passing the mic over to book collector, Peter Vosbergh, who donated antique books and original editions that were for sale inside the historic library. Proceeds from the evening benefit the library’s many free community programs, including film screenings, readings, concerts, and children's events.

Daphne Holzman, whose husband Edgar Holzman was a participating author, received an autographed copy of The Lightening Keeper from Starling Lawrence; Emily Werne and Richard Johnston.
