Fiona Breslin reports from Pittsfield. It was a night of heart-swelling warmth on Thursday, December 13, as Pittsfield's Moments House drew friends and loved ones of all ages together for the organization's first Annual Holiday Community Party at Itam Lodge. Moments House is a Pittsfield-based organization that offers a homelike gathering place for Berkshire County families touched by a cancer diagnosis to congregate, share, and gather information. The organization recently acquired a physical location on Fenn Street, which founder Alice Trumbull says has made a world of difference. The family-friendly party welcomed supporters of Moments House (including board member Dody Brady and her daughter Pyper, above) to dine on an Italian buffet provided by the Pittsfield Unico group and refreshments from Starbucks, and live performances from Terry a La Berry and Friends and local rock band Whiskey City. Guests also did a little crafting while a Christmas tree with gifts to be raffled off surrounding it and other shimmering decorations had the Itam Lodge feeling like a celebration hub. Proceeds from the evening benefit the free programs and services Moments House provides to anyone in the community affected by cancer.
