The North Chatham Free Library, a “little library with big ideas,” held its annual Chase the Chill winter fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 31 at the home of Robin Guthridge and board member Mark Reamer. Each year has seen the cocktail and hors d’oeuvres party grow, and this year was the most successful yet, with more than 70 people packing the hosts’ inviting open-plan home, a repurposed former creamery. The benefit is put on by the Library’s board members, who have a hand in everything from promoting the event to making the appetizers and doing the dishes. Chase the Chill raises funds for the Library’s programming, which includes lectures, performances, events for children, and a new Retirement Series. Additional upcoming fundraisers include the annual springtime Books & Blooms sale, a wine tasting, and a moveable feast in the fall.
