On Thursday, Oct. 19, rays of sunshine streamed through the stained-glass windows of Ventfort Hall as the Gilded Age mansion played host to the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires’ (NPC) Giving Back Guide launch party. NPC celebrated its 8th annual edition with hot tea, apple cider, and tasty treats. NPC Founder and Executive Director Liana Toscanini thanked the 11 businesses and organizations who sponsored the issue, along with those who advertised in its pages. Wendy Healey, Ventfort Hall's executive director, spoke about the history of the Berkshire “cottage” they were in and the process Ventfort Hall, a nonprofit itself, is going through to preserve the mansion for generations to come.
Featuring 100 profiles and 1,200 listings of regional non-profit organizations, the Giving Back Guide is the source for volunteers and philanthropists wishing to donate their time and money. This year, NPC printed 1,500 copies of the Guide, which are distributed in The Berkshire Eagle, mailed to town halls and libraries, and displayed at Guido’s Fresh Marketplace. The Guide may also be purchased for $5 through the NPC website or viewed online.
