Here’s one on Mount Merino Road in Hudson, a gorgeous road with river views I used to drive aimlessly on in my 1992 Honda Civic when I had to kill time on weekend reporter shifts. It’s full of incredible houses and scenery, and this one is no exception. Designed by award-winning architect Barry Price and built into a hillside to create epic views, 164 Mount Merino Road is a cool modern box built in 2014; it has clean lines, but it isn’t austere.

On six acres, the house has 3,072 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It centers around a two-story great room that faces the Hudson with a wall of big German-made windows, plus a posh outdoor hangout outside. There’s a dark and brooding media room in the basement for scenery-haters. Outside, a hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, and patio are all oriented to river views, too. Mount Merino Road is about five minutes from Hudson and the Amtrak station, but it feels like a totally different place.

164 Mount Merino Road is listed for $3,000,000 by Annabel Taylor at Four Seasons Sotheby’s Int.
