Sunday, October 18 | Pine Plains, NY
The long-running public radio program "Selected Shorts" stops again at the Stissing Center in Pine Plains on October 18 for “A Touch of Magic,” an installment of funny, poignant, and surprising short fiction in which a touch of magic transforms the everyday. The program is recorded live in Banning Hall for public radio. WAMC’s Joe Donahue hosts.
The announced actors are Griffin Dunne (“This Is Us”), Colby Minifie (“The Boys”), Bhavesh Patel (“Not Suitable for Work”), and Denis O’Hare (“American Horror Story”). As always, the actors are subject to change.
"Selected Shorts" is produced by Symphony Space in New York City. It began in 1985 on the stage at Symphony Space and has grown into a public radio show, a podcast, and national tours. Isaiah Sheffer, who co-founded Symphony Space and hosted the series for years, built it around actors reading short fiction aloud to a live audience. Each program has a theme, and this one is built on stories where the magical enters ordinary life.
