Mark Williams reports from Stockbridge. Rain was pouring, but the diminutive Sohn Fine Art Gallery in Stockbridge was crowded with people who love photography on Saturday, January 11. The current exhibition, Nude, features photography and mixed media by John Atchley, Peggy Braun, John Clarke, Greg Gorman, Eric Korenman, Hildy Kronen, Jack Krove, Mona Mark, Matuschka, Irmari Nacht, Cassandra Sohn, Savannah Spirit and Lincoln Russell, who was on hand at the opening (seen at left with Gallery owner Cassandra Sohn). Russell spoke about his work and signed copies of his books, which included limited collector editions of Artist Seeking Models, Adventures in Burgundy, and An Intimate Portrait of Seiji Ozawa, Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He explained how his nude photography was created using highly complicated and sophisticated techniques which often allow the models and Lincoln himself to move around in the photograph while it's being taken, leading to almost dreamlike scenes. The exhibition continues through March.
