Tangent Theatre Company closes out its year of pop-up play readings with "Almost, Maine," John Cariani’s beloved winter-themed classic set beneath the northern lights. The vignette-style play blends love, whimsy, friendship, and a hint of mysticism—one of the many reasons it remains among the most produced titles in the world. An encore performance has been added at 7:30 p.m. to meet demand, since the afternoon show is sold out.

The cast features an impressive ensemble of eight Actors’ Equity and regional artists, including Brendan Burke, Molly McClarnon, Maggie Adams McDowell, Ann Osmond, Audrey Rapoport, Michael Rhodes, Doug Trapp, and Steven Young reading stage directions.

The event takes place at Village Hall in Tivoli (86 Broadway), with the third-floor space accessible by stairs or elevator. Both readings run in two acts with an intermission; admission is free with donations welcome, and general seating is offered. RSVPs are required by emailing info@tangent-arts.org, with standby available for the sold-out matinee.
