There was much talk of community during the after-dinner remarks at the Shaker Museum’s Summer Garden Party on Saturday, Aug. 6. Held on the grounds of the Silver Brothers Distillery, a soon-to-open, family-owned farm distillery in Old Chatham, New York, the fundraising event’s was in support of the operating budget for the new Shaker Museum administrative campus and research library in Chatham. The museum houses the most comprehensive Shaker collection in the world and is intended to become a destination in the regional arts and culture corridor as well as keeping the Shaker community spirit alive. Following drinks and hors d'oeuvres, guests settled at long tables under a tent and feasted on a meal, served family style, by Hudson’s renowned Lil’ Debs Oasis.
