For the first time, The Brine Garden, in Pawling, one of the most exceptional private gardens in our region, will be open in the fall, when colorful leaves and berries highlight its complex structure. This garden is the magnum opus of its creator, Duncan Brine, a professional landscape designer and New York Botanical Garden lecturer. Anne Raver of the New York Times has called it “a dreamlike landscape.” Horticulture Magazine’s Carleen Madigan Perkins describes it as, “…the embodiment of Duncan’s philosophy of gardening large. This concept doesn’t necessarily relate to size; it’s the idea that an entire property, be it two acres or twenty, should be seen and treated as one garden...a series of interconnected spaces that reflect both the personal style of the creator and the history of the place.” The Brine Garden21 Bluebird Inn Road Pawling, Saturday, October 3; 2 - 6 p.m., rain or shine Admission: $5
